Seniors

  • Participants will complete seated and standing yoga poses.
  • This class is suitable for beginners to advanced yogis, and it provides breathing exercises and relaxation without the strain on your joints.
  • This class focuses on strengthening muscles and increasing range of movement for daily life activities.
  • Participants can use hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a Silver Sneakers ball. Often a chair is used for seated exercises or standing support.
  • This class offers standing low-impact moves that alternate with standing upper-body strength.
  • The class can be adapted for all fitness levels
  • This class will bring heart-healthy aerobics to your workout using low-impact movements.
  • The class focuses on building upper-body and core strength with added cardio endurance.

  • The Body Bar has a wide variety of classes that are geared specifically for seniors.
  • Note: Classes that are not designated as senior programs will not be modified from their original format to accommodate individual fitness levels. Please consult your physician prior to beginning any exercise regime and know your limitations.
  • This fitness program is a results-driven program if you are an older adult and would like to take charge and be active. For your safety, please review the items below to see if you fit the criteria for the Senior program.
  • You must be able to: Shift your weight from one foot to the other without the use of support, Control your balance moving forward and backward. Use both your upper and lower body. And – you must have sufficient muscular strength and endurance to exercise from a standing position for a minimum of 30 minutes.
  • Senior members who utilize their insurance carry fitness membership programs have access to use the gym floor during regular business hours as well as participate in any of the fitness classes, as their physical fitness level safely permits.
