The most common treatment for massage, Swedish utilizes long, soothing strokes applied with light to moderate pressure. Its purpose is to relax the muscles and reduce stress. It is very beneficial for reducing minor aches and pains, and in general, for those who have never received therapeutic massage before. During this session, warm towels are used to heighten the relaxation experience.
This therapy utilizes Deep Tissue techniques to further affect the deeper layers of muscle tissue. The strokes are similar to Swedish but much heavier in pressure. It is very helpful with the release of chronic tissue congestion, easing muscle pain, and injury rehabilitation. It also aids in reducing inflammation-related pain. During this session, warm towels are used to heighten the relaxation experience.
This modality incorporates the Swedish style with scented massage cream. The blend of essential oils can help reduce stress, relax, rejuvenate, or energize the individual, depending upon the scent chosen for the session. During this session, warm towels are used to heighten the relaxation experience.
This treatment uses heated basalt stones during the massage. The stones are incorporated into the session as an extension of the therapist’s hands to invigorate and provide deep soothing heat to the underlying tissue. The results are more relaxing than a regular massage.
Relief for the expectant mother is available through this modality. There is a different setup to accommodate their pregnancy and enhance comfort. Strokes are similar to Swedish with care given to areas that may be of particular stress during the pregnancy. Please note, this massage may only be given after the first trimester ends.
Enjoy the benefits of a Swedish, Aromatherapy, or Deep Tissue massage as a couple. During this service, the couple is massaged in the same room, at the same time by different therapists working in harmony. A couples massage is a great way to introduce individuals who are unfamiliar with or are apprehensive about receiving a massage.
This modality applies direct pressure to the hands and feet. While working these areas, the practitioner stimulates corresponding areas of the body. Think of it in these terms; the nervous system operates similarly to a freeway system. All roads connect but go to different places. During your session, we wrap the feet in warm towels to heighten the relaxation experience.
Reiki (pronounced “ray-key”) is a Japanese healing technique that focuses on the balancing and healing of energy flow and energy centers in the body. Two Japanese words define the treatment. Rei, which means ‘spiritual consciousness’ or ‘God-consciousness’ and ki, (which is also pronounced and sometimes spelled chi) which means ‘life force energy’.
Unlike massage, which is hands-on, a Reiki treatment is performed by placing the hands above energy centers located in the body. A balance is created through the practitioner to the client, giving them a sense of well-being. A balanced energy system can help in the treatment of mind, body, and spirit. It may be linked to improvements in health and in the treatment of diseases.
